King Ranch Institute Seeking Students for 2008 Master’s Degree Program

King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management is now seeking applicants to begin in their 2008-2009 master’s degree program in ranch management. The King Ranch Institute, which was created in 2003 to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the King Ranch, is the only master’s degree program of its kind in the United States. Each year, the Institute selects four students to be part of this unique and exceptional academic program.

The Institute is looking for mature and experienced students with at least two years work experience in the ranching business. Applicants should also have a bachelor’s degree with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better and a score of at least 800 on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

If accepted into the program, students are fully-funded with a combined two-year scholarship and assistantship that includes a salary, full benefits, and out-of-state tuition waivers. Students are responsible for in-state tuition, books, fees, and other school-related expenses.

Crystalyx® to Host Grazing Management Workshop

A Grazing Management Workshop is being presented by Crystalyx Brand Supplements. “Don’t Fence Me In: Using Animal Behavior and Low-Moisture Block Supplements to Manage Pastures” will be Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, beginning at 1 p.m.

The workshop will be at The Ranch, Larimer County Fairgrounds in Fort Collins, Colo. All media, cattle producers and those interested are invited to attend this free educational workshop. Producers and researchers will explore ways to improve the management of grazing land during the workshop. The program will feature the latest research from some of the country’s leading authorities on animal behavior and livestock nutrition, as well as producers who have used modified grazing distribution successfully.
