Association Hosts Outreach, Webcasts

December Webcast to feature yearling data

The American Angus Association will host an educational webcast Tuesday, Dec. 12, beginning at 8 p.m. Central time. Sally Northcutt, director of genetic research, will present “It’s Yearling Time,” providing an overview of the various data to measure and collect, including ultrasound information.

In order to view and listen to the webcast you will need a high-speed DSL internet connection. Register for a free and private account at www.liveauctions.tv prior to the start of the webcast. Once on the site, go to “Create a new user.” Fill in the brief information form to create a unique user name and password.

Past webcasts are archived on the Association’s Angus Learning Center online resource. Visit www.angus.org/AngusEducation.html to access presentations on “AHIR Basics” and “AAA Login.”

The next scheduled webcasts will be Jan. 16 and Feb. 13.


Wyoming Outreach Seminar Added to Schedule

The American Angus Association has several Outreach Seminars scheduled in the coming months, including the following.

  • Dec. 8, Kearney, Neb. The seminar will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Holiday Inn Convention Center. It is being conducted in conjunction with the Nebraska Angus Association Annual Meeting. Scott Johnson will conduct a seminar on Angus Information Management Software (AIMS) at 10 a.m.

  • Dec. 11, Jackson, Mo. The Outreach Seminar is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will take place in the Cape Girardeau Extension Office Conference Room.

  • Jan. 22, 2007, Douglas, Wyo. The seminar will be at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in conjunction with the Wyoming Winter Ag Expo.

  • Jan. 27, 2007, Provo, Utah. The seminar is planned in conjunction with the Utah Angus Association Annual Meeting and will begin at 2 p.m.

  • March 16, 2007, Clemson, S.C. The seminar will begin at 4 p.m. and will be prior to the South Carolina Angus Association Annual Meeting.

Association staff will be on hand to discuss the latest in the beef industry and Association programs. In addition, Association members will have an opportunity to provide input to Association staff during interactive discussions about ways the Association can best serve members today and in the future.
