Border Closure Special to Air Tonight

May 10, 2005 — For almost two years, the United States border has been closed to Canadian cattle after an Alberta cow was found to have bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). The border was scheduled to reopen March 7; however, U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull of Montana issued an injunction preventing it on March 2.

RFD-TV’s The Cattle Show will air a special program tonight on the implications for both sides and the processes Canada has put into place to protect against BSE and seek new export customers.
The show will premiere tonight at 8 p.m. CST. It will re-air at 4 a.m. and noon on May 11, and at 10 p.m. on May 15. The Cattle Show can be seen weekly on RFD-TV on DISH Network channel 9409 and DirecTV channel 379.
