Welcome to the Angus e-List

Free BRS black books available

The Beef Record Service (BRS) is once again offering its free 2005 Black Books to cattlemen hoping to capture their herds’ valuable performance and management data.

The pocket-sized book includes a 2005 weekly calendar, gestation table, and room to record calf information, breeding records, herd health updates, feeding data and more.

"The BRS Black Book combines many of the management tools commonly used by producers to keep cow herd records," says Jim Shirley, vice president of industry relations for the American Angus Association. "It is easy to use, convenient, and an excellent way to record field data."

BRS is a program geared toward commercial producers that provides a system to keep management and performance records on their animals, regardless of breed composition, to enhance profitability.

To request the free books, call the American Angus Association’s Commercial Programs Department at (816) 383-5100 or send e-mail to mpepple@angus.org.
