Certified Angus Beef LLC Extends Helping Hand Through Benefit Auction

The team at Certified Angus Beef LLC joins all Americans in expressing great sorrow for the lives lost and the destruction that remains in New York City and Washington, D.C., as well as the Pennsylvania plane crash. Though these atrocities have threatened all that we as a country hold dear to our hearts, they have also steeled our nation's resolve to see good prevail over evil.

Edmund Burke once said, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." In a combative effort to prevent Burke's proclamation from coming true, hundreds of rescue workers search through the rubble, thousands of citizens donate blood, and millions of people from around the world send prayers. We will do our part by hosting a benefit auction to aid the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

What's up for auction?
A 2002 Olympic Winter Games ticket package valued at $10,000. Donated by Certified Angus Beef LLC.

Why an Olympic Games trip package?
Mitt Romney, President and CEO for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, feels the Olympic Games are a testament to the courage of the human spirit and a world symbol of peace. The folks here agree — as an Official Supplier to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, we want to share the benefits of that spirit of determination with those most deeply affected by this tragedy.

What's included in the package?
The winning bidder and a guest will receive a four-day, three-night trip to Salt Lake City, Feb. 18-21, 2002. The package includes roundtrip airfare from the closest major airport and two tickets to each of the following events, Aerials, Skeleton, Short Track Speed Skating, and Bobsleigh events — all premium events. Accommodations at the historic Angel House Inn Bed & Breakfast in Park City (standard room, double occupancy), and transportation via motor coach to each event will be provided. Package recipient names must be provided to Certified Angus Beef LLC by October 10, all attendees must be 18 years of age.

Who can bid?
The auction is open to all Certified Angus Beef ® licensed partners, Angus producers, and business associations through the Wooster Chamber of Commerce, and Certified Angus Beef staff. Bidders must be 18 years of age.

When is the auction?
The auction will be held at 4 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 20.
