Welcome to the nineteenth issue of Angus e-List

American Angus Association offers
2002 Beef Record Service (BRS) Datebooks

As we look to the future of the seedstock industry, nearly all will agree that service has been, and will continue to be, an integral part of all successful seedstock operations. But, with hay to be baled, cows to be bred, and the various other duties of operating a ranch, time becomes a limiting factor. Therefore, service that can be provided with the least cost and time involved will be your best bet for making contact with your customers.

Meanwhile, the "trend" for your commercial cow/calf operators is quickly becoming the necessity of information and data collection on their cattle. With more and more buyers from all sectors of the industry requiring information like breed make-up, date of birth, sire registration numbers, and process verification; cow-calf producers are searching for ways to keep and process this information into usable data to market and select their cattle.

The American Angus Association’s Beef Record Service (BRS) is offering an opportunity for you to tackle BOTH of these challenges with the newly created "BRS Black Book." Designed to fit with the Beef Record Service trait schematic, as well as basic cow-calf management systems, this twelve-month pocket date book will serve as a handy tool for your commercial cow-calf customers. Plus, your logo and contact information will be stamped on the back cover of the book to be seen on a daily basis.

A few of the features of this 2002 book include: calving information tables, BRS codes and guidelines, pasture usage charts, AI breeding records, phone number tables, and a twelve month date book. Your order of 100 or more books will be drop-shipped to your address to be distributed at your discretion. Cost is $2.75/book.

Below is a 2002 Black Book order form. Following are the requirements for purchase: LEGIBLY print, type, or E-mail your order form (minimum order = 100 books); submit camera ready art for your logo (clear business card/letterhead will suffice, or E-mail in graphic format); enclose deposit ($1/book ordered).
